Frequently Asked Questions

Every question we've been asked more than twice. No corporate speak. No evasive answers. Just the facts.

HEKAWEB custom websites start from $2,400 for a Launch build (up to 3 pages). Most projects are $4,800 for a Signature build (up to 10 pages, with CMS, structured data and custom animations). Empire — website plus mobile app — is $9,600. This is a one-time build fee. No platform fees. No hidden costs. Use our cost calculator for an instant estimate tailored to your needs.

Most HEKAWEB builds take 2–4 weeks from kickoff to launch. This includes discovery, design, development, revisions, and deployment. Complex projects with custom functionality, e-commerce, or integrations may take 6–8 weeks. Rush timelines (under 2 weeks) are available for an additional fee. We don't do 24-hour builds — quality takes time.

No. HEKAWEB builds are hand-coded from scratch using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. We don't use WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, or any pre-made templates. Every line of code is written specifically for your business. This means faster load times, better SEO, stronger security, and a site that looks like no one else's.

Yes. You own 100% of your website, including all code, design files, images, and assets. We transfer full ownership on project completion. There are no licensing fees, platform dependencies, ongoing subscriptions, or restrictions. You can host it anywhere, edit it with any developer, and modify it however you like.

No platform fees, ever. You pay for the build once, and it's yours forever. Unlike agencies that charge $150–$300/month for "maintenance" on a WordPress site, we don't have ongoing fees because our sites don't need monthly maintenance. Hosting is free for most sites on our edge network. Only large builds (10+ pages, e-commerce backends, or apps) move to managed hosting — from $49/month, cancel anytime. You own everything either way.

Every HEKAWEB build includes technical SEO as standard: proper heading hierarchy (H1, H2, H3), schema markup (LocalBusiness, Service, FAQPage), fast load times, mobile-first responsive design, image optimisation, clean semantic HTML, internal linking architecture, and XML sitemap generation. We don't do ongoing SEO campaigns, link building, or content marketing — those are separate services you can engage us or another provider for.

Yes. Signature builds include a CMS, so you can edit everything yourself. On Launch builds, content updates mean editing HTML files — we provide documentation to help you or your team make simple text changes. Minor text updates are included free for 30 days post-launch (60 on Signature, 90 on Empire). For businesses that publish frequently, we can integrate a headless CMS (like Sanity or Contentful) or set up a simple Git-based content workflow.

Static sites rarely break — there's no database to corrupt, no plugins to conflict, and no complex backend to fail. If something does go wrong (a broken link, a display issue, etc.), we offer 30 days of free support post-launch. After that, fixes are billed at $150/hour, or we can arrange a maintenance agreement if you prefer ongoing coverage.

While we specialise in Australian businesses and understand the local market intimately, we work with clients globally. Our process is fully remote, and we've built sites for businesses in the UK, US, Singapore, and New Zealand. Time zone differences are managed through async communication and scheduled calls.

Every build includes: custom design (no templates), hand-coded HTML/CSS/JS, mobile-first responsive development, technical SEO structured markup, performance optimisation, cross-browser testing, and full ownership transfer. What's not included unless specified: hosting, domain registration, professional copywriting, photography, and ongoing maintenance.

Yes. We build custom e-commerce solutions with Stripe or fully custom checkout flows. Because we don't use template themes, your store will be uniquely designed and optimised for conversion. Stripe e-commerce is available as a $2,400 add-on to any tier; larger catalogues and custom integrations are quoted individually.
